Priston Tale 2 was originally released a few years back around 2004 is the sequel to the original Priston Tale Gold. There are huge improvements over the original Priston Tale Gold and is similar to it in many ways. However, it lacks the feel that the first Priston Tale Gold had. There are the restrictions on class and gender still. unfortunately. Now with 1 more class! There's 5 not 4 in the beginning!!! There's suppose to be 3 races, but only 2 are playable. Not that it really matters since the only thing that separates them right now is whether they're a magic or physical damage based character.
Story:
Something about demons fighting and building empires and such. Go read the lore on the official site. There's not much to go on inside the game.
Graphics:
Compared to the first Priston Tale Gold, it is a huge improvement. The resolutions you can use are pretty limited and despite having average graphics, it takes a very long time to load. The characters look pretty good, monsters and NPCs on that other hand, not so much. If you set it to window mode, the game is always stuck on “on top” mode as well. There is some nice art work at character creation and loading screens, but otherwise its only a little above average.
Gameplay:
If you're playing this game in window mode, its very annoying. You have to enter the game first to switch to window mode. My computer froze until I used the task manager which finally made the game into window mode. When you switch between windows and the game window becomes inactive, the whole thing turns black and when you switch back, there's like a 10 second delay before you start seeing anything. The window mode is also always on top. I prefer my games in window mode but this is just ridiculous. You have to minimize it to go look at forums or read guides for the game. Its annoying to have to do this all the time. Basically if you don't play in full screen, don't bother to play this game.
The first thing that annoyed me was character creation. Character creation is very restricted. Characters must be a certain race and gender. It basically boils down to male = melee, female = range. After that you have 4 hair styles, 4 hair colors, 4 eye colors (not visible in game), and 4 skin colors to Priston Tale Gold Gold from. That's it. Not a lot of variety. The clothes in game at least change your look, but everyone is more or less going to be wearing the same stuff at the same level so you won't be that unique. For the purpose of this review I used the basic Mage and Archer classes. The rest of the classes include melee and hybrid. Female mage seemed to be more leaning towards support magic while male mage seemed to lean a bit more towards combat magic along with something in between for both.
